Nat van Zee first big job as a make up artist was for a tv commercial for Ministry of Sound. Next she was booked to head make up and hair for a film feature film in the same genre as Guy Ritchie's  Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Working as a make up artist in film, video, tv or other mediums of moving image such as the recent popularity of fashion films online and exposed at festivals has different requirement compared to stills. Continuity is important and often shoots are running much longer than fashion editorials, a 15 hour day is pretty typical and crew numbers are much bigger too including gaffers, art department, audio specialist etcetera. Nat van Zee has been collaborating as a film and moving image make up artist with production companies such as Partizan working for Sony Music, Universal, BBC, Channel4, ITV, MTV and Spring Studios. Recently Nat has collaborated as a moving image  and video make up artist for The Vaccines 'Norgaard' music video shot by Partizan in London. The concept was tongue and cheek inspired by classic french erotica, with the footage catching glimpses of top model Norgaards white knickers in various scenarios such as her stepping on to a old fashioned bike, messing around on her rolling skates, polishing a bowling ball with a naughty glint in her eye, and finally playing tennis.
Working as a moving image-film-music video make up artist for The Ting Tings music video 'Hands' was very different. The treatment was composed by Warren Fu who has been involved with editing Science Fiction films such as star wars so the post production added a lot of special effects and using extra actors in a factory setting.
The Fashion film 'Fleche' with Christel Chaudet, film maker at Spring Studios portrays beautiful slow panning moving images shot on a RED camera showing of the fluid movements of the garments.
Recently i had a fun day shooting with Gemma Booth at Santucci & Co agency shooting a test for Jack Wills campaign. It involved 2 girls, one of which was Valerie van de Graaf who featured in the Topshow Make up Campaign, and one boy messing around; getting ready for a halloween party with clown make up and a native indian look, playing near the tree house and watching fireworks.
